She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (Board Certified). Dr. Lesniak is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association. These affiliations help her stay abreast of recent developments in the field of psychiatry. Prior to entering private practice she spent 11 years treating Veterans and their families at the Veterans Health Administration in Hudson Valley, New York. Dr. Lesniak specializes in anxiety and mood disorders, PTSD, adjustment disorders, stress-related and relationship issues. She enjoys using therapy, especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to help patients with depression, anxiety and other disorders. Dr. Lesniak usually incorporates some psychotherapy into medication management sessions. Dr. Lesniak takes a holistic and customized approach to each patient and works collaboratively with patients to help them improve their quality of life. Patients’ input is very important to her and she will gladly answer any questions about the process and treatment. Dr. Lesniak speaks English and Polish. Insurance and payments Dr. Lesniak is an out-of-network provider for insurance carriers. Dr. Lesniak encourages patients to contact their insurance companies to discuss their out-of-network coverage, as many plans provide significant reimbursements of treatment costs. Insurance that includes out-of-network benefits often reimburses 20%-90% of fees. Patients are given a receipt for the services provided to submit to their insurance.
